Aegidiana is a collection of pedigrees, individuals, historical and armorial information about the GILES family
over various periods (depending on the location) from the 14th to 20th centuries.
It was compiled by A.H. Giles, and printed privately in 1910. Few copies exist today, though
it has been filmed by the LDS (FHL BRITISH film 990570 Item 2. Note that the description in the LDS catalogue is somewhat misleading. The name of the person who filmed it is given as the author, and there is a statement that the book is about a New Zealand family, which it is not.)
It will take some time to transcribe the entire book, which runs to over 170 pages. Polite requests
for particular counties might influence the order in which I work.
While creating this transcription, I have tried to stay reasonably faithful to the original look of the book, and absolutely
faithful to the content. Any deviation from the original, or additional information,
is marked
[Transcribers note]. If you do not have the 'Old English Text MT' font installed on your machine, the nice Gothic effect above will not render properly. The transcribed pages were designed to use Garamond, but if you don't have this, they should appear adequately in your default serif font (you need not take any action for this to happen).
